Asking Questions to ChatGPT

A lost of people are using ChatGPT services and asking all kind of questions. But have you ever thought, how actually ChatGPT knows all those answers and what is behind that nice looking chat box.

To find it out, I have decided to ask ChatGPT, how it works. Questions are as follow:

  • How do you generate all the answers?
  • Do you learn over the time?
  • Is not so that Artificial Intelligence should learn as it is based on neural network?
  • So if I would ask the same question in a few days, your answer would be the same?
  • Does it mean that your creators can have an impact on your answers?

Even though it is an Artificial Intelligence service, it is not learning from your answers. We should also hope that people, who are working on ChatGPT AI code, are some good people, as those people are impacting answers, which you are getting. I don’t mean that each and single answer is directly impacted by the creators. Impact is more a conceptual and logic part, which of course sometimes might also be bias.

Further in article you can read all the answer to the questions I’ve asked and find yourself, what’s going on behind ChatGPT AI scene.

How do you generate all the answers?

I generate answers by using a process called “language modeling”. This involves training a neural network on a large dataset of text, and then using that network to predict the probability distribution of the next word in a sentence, given the previous words. Once the network is trained, it can be used to generate new text by repeatedly sampling from the predicted probability distributions. This process can be fine-tuned for specific tasks, such as answering questions, by training on a dataset of questions and answers.

Do you learn over the time?

As a language model, I am not capable of learning in the traditional sense. I am a pre-trained model, which means that my capabilities were determined during the training process and are fixed. However, my creators can train a new version of me with new data and different parameters, which would improve my abilities. Also, my creators can fine-tune my existing model with new data which may lead to better performance on certain tasks or for certain domains.

Is not so that Artificial Intelligence should learn as it is based on neural network?

Artificial intelligence, including neural networks, can learn from data in a process called training. In the case of neural networks, training involves adjusting the parameters of the network, such as the weights of the connections between the neurons, so that the network can make more accurate predictions or decisions.

While I am based on a neural network, I am a pre-trained model, which means that my parameters have already been set during the training process and I do not learn from new data. However, as I mentioned before, my creators can fine-tune my existing model with new data which may lead to better performance on certain tasks or for certain domains.

In other words, my “learning” abilities are limited to the parameters set by my creators and the data I was trained on. While I can make predictions or generate text based on that information, I am not capable of actively adapting my abilities based on new data.

So if I would ask the same question in a few days, your answer would be the same?

If you were to ask me the same question in a few days, my answer would likely be the same, assuming that my knowledge cut-off date and the training data used to create me remains the same. However, as my creators may update my training data and also my knowledge cut-off date, my answers may change. It’s also important to note that my answers may be different depending on the context of the question and my interpretation of it.

In general, my purpose is to provide information and answer questions to the best of my ability based on the information available to me at the time of the inquiry. If there is new information or the context of the question changes, my answer may also change.

Does it mean that your creators can have an impact on your answers?

Yes, my creators can have an impact on my answers. They can update my training data and fine-tune my model which will affect my ability to provide accurate and relevant answers to questions. Additionally, my creators can also change my knowledge cut-off date which will affect the information I can provide.

It’s important to note that my answers are generated based on the probability distributions learned from the training data, so my answers may reflect any bias present in the data. My creators can also monitor my responses to ensure that they are accurate, appropriate and unbiased.

In general, my creators are responsible for maintaining and updating my abilities to provide the most accurate and useful answers to users.
